With school set to open within just a few weeks, employers need to know how to accommodate working parents whose children’s school or place of care may be unavailable due to COVID-19. At his time, after weeks of positive health trends, the rate of infection has gone up, particularly among younger residents. Additionally, teachers’ unions have expressed dissatisfaction with state procedures, creating a degree of unpredictability. But regardless of the situation, employer actions will depend on the individual circumstances of each employee.
