Andrée Laney, a widely experienced lawyer, trainer and former administrative judge, has joined the professional team of the Employers Association of New Jersey (EANJ), according to John Sarno, president of the employers' group.
Ms. Laney is a former senior trial attorney for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission where she litigated employment discrimination cases in federal court. She has also served as an EEOC administrative judge where she conducted hearings and resolved discrimination charges brought by federal employees against all federal agencies.
Additionally, Ms. Laney served as Employment Counsel/Labor Relations Director for the City of New York's transportation department, where she counseled management on personnel on employee-relations issues. She has also served as counsel at several major law firms in the NY Metropolitan area.
"We are pleased to have Andrée join our team. She has exceptional experience and our members will benefit greatly from her knowledge and expertise," says Sarno.
Ms. Laney will be available by phone to speak with EANJ members and will provide on-site compliance training and teach HR law courses.
Sarno says that she will add depth to an already knowledgeable staff.
"The staff interacts quite a bit, particularly when trying to solve a particularly vexing problem for a member. Andrée's depth of knowledge will add a great deal to that process," he adds.
Ms Laney is a graduate of Princeton University and earned her law degree from New York University. She also adjunct teaches at Rutgers Business School.
